Resolution
Julian and I had become the parents of twins, the boy we called Angelus Jax and the girl was Althea Argenti Alexandrov-Gustavo. They were born more human than anything from what we could tell.
We were sitting in the lounge one evening only 1 month after the birth with the babies doing the routine of feed change bed.
Ebony came racing up the stairs.
“There’s a stranger walking up the driveway,” he said, “I think it’s that guy you didn’t want here”
Talon went down to the security room to check it out and then came back up
There was a knock at the door.
Talon answered it.
“You shouldn't be here” I heard Talon say.
I finished what I was doing, I handed little Angelus to Mary-Anne and went to see who it was.
It was Sin in some poor business man’s body
“What have you done?” Sin said looking at me as if he wished to tear me apart
“You will need to be more specific,” I said looking at him like he was a mild inconvenience
“I could not pop in and check on you, I had to walk in here it has taken me days to find you” He tried to step in the door but couldn’t as an invisible barrier prevented him.
“You cannot enter my home because you have not been given any kind of permission, and you have malicious intent,” I said smiling at him
“I want my baby” he snarled
“And you can have them when you no longer pose a threat to them,” I said
“What do you mean by them?” Sin snarled
“I had twins,” I said his face lit up
“Kids Daddy’s home” he yelled as if they would come running to him.
“Sin do you know what a baby is?” I asked him
“Of course I do,” he said looking more pissed off
“You do realize these babies are only 3 weeks old, they do not understand you, they cannot walk or even crawl,” I said
“But they can talk for themselves right?” Sin said trying to look in and see them “after all they are born of a god”
As if right on cue Althea started her death scream of sleep, it was something she seemed to do some bedtimes.
I watched as Sin looked horrified and in pain
“What are they doing to it?” he screeched at me
“Darling let them cry it seems to hurt this cocksucker,” I said to Julian in my head, I heard him laugh
“It’s nothing,” I said, “That is her way of saying, she thinks we're wrong and it’s not bedtime”
“What?’ Sin said looking confused
“It’s how babies communicate...they scream and cry and whine,” I said as Angelus started on his scream.
“Honey, can you come and do your thing?” I heard Julian yell from the lounge.
“I want to see my babies” Sin said trying again to get through the barrier
“No one can enter this house with malicious intent toward anyone else in this house,” Talon said standing like a pissed off guard with his arms crossed
“You see Sin we are prepared this time, and they are not your babies, we had them tested for dna...it’s all Julian and I” I said smiling “You could try through legal means to get them, but I think the council will heavily frown upon your claim, since it was rape by deception, and with malicious intent, and technically you made us have abominations, so they may throw on a charge of experimenting on and slavery of another being, and then kill the babies”
“You cannot keep me from them” He seethed “and there’s nothing your council could do to me”
“I have every intention of making sure the kids know all about you,” I said as both babies let off another ear piercing scream
“Who is making them do that?” Sin said his hands on his head as if it were causing him magnificent pain
“No one,” I said, “it is what babies do, now if you will excuse me, I need to go and help settle them.”
I left Talon to deal with Sin and I went back to the babies.
Julian was holding Althea at arm's length admittedly so she would continue to cry, and Mary-Anne was doing the same with Angelus.
We calmed them down again and got them ready for bed.
After we had put them to bed we went back to the lounge.
Talon was sitting there watching tv
“So Sin has decided maybe it is better you raise them till they stop crying” He laughed “Apparently 5 minutes of them screaming was doing his head in, I told him that’s nothing and he should hear when they really get pissy”
“I’m so glad they are really cruisey babies most of the time,” I said cuddling up to Julian on the couch “cause their crying does my head in”
‘I’m glad he left” Julian said “and yes I am me,” he said in my head
I smiled and snuggled into him more
“So now we know for sure what Alipa was saying was true, what are we going to do with them?” Mary-Anne asked
“Well, we could move back to the castle, plenty of babysitters, and a good school.” Silver said, not looking over enthusiastic about it.
“Or we could raise them to be normal,” Julian said
“But they aren’t hun,” I said
“Well actually they kind of are,” Talon said “I mean right now they haven't shown any special abilities or anything, and they don’t even drink blood”
“Do you think if we find another place somewhere that maybe Mat or Alipa could hide us from the likes of Sin?” I asked
“Well Alipa was able to ward this place pretty tight so I think so, we can but ask,” Talon said looking a bit sad
“You miss her?” I asked Talon
“Yeah,” he said knowing I meant Mat “I mean it's cool she has come out here a couple of times and you let me go there, but it’s just not the same”
“Maybe you need to go home” I suggested
“Maybe, or maybe I could steal her and keep her with me” he grinned
“If only your sister hadn’t made it a law punishable by death” Julian laughed
I smacked him.
“I think both of you should take a break and go see your loved ones,” Silver said
“And who would help you with the babies?” Mary-Anne asked
“I’m sure we could find someone to help us,” Silver said, “and you guys deserve happiness too.”
“Well Brutus is being an ass at the moment so I have no interest in seeing him till he apologizes,” Mary-Anne said
“Maybe you could go talk to him about what an ass he is being?” Julian said “you know being a male, he may not realize he is being an ass”
“He wanted me to go raise his babies,” she said “We have only really not long started dating, I’m not having babies”
“Well it has been about a year,” Talon said
“So you Mat are having babies now too, after all, you’ve been dating for 5 years,” Mary-Anne said
“You know we can’t” Talon said looking at her as if he would like to have babies
“Would you expect her to give up her job and raise them if you could?” she asked him
“Well yes and no” Talon admitted “she would have to stop working for some of the time after they are born obviously, but if she wanted to work after we could work something out I’m sure”
“According to Brutus and our last conversation, babies are womans work, like cleaning a house” she said
“Oh Brutus” I said trying not to laugh “he is silly boy”
“Even I know you do not tell a woman that if you want to keep her” Julian said “and I have made some pretty big cock ups in my time”
“He said he was going to call me again tomorrow, I told him not to bother” Mary-Anne said “I don’t want someone who thinks I belong in the kitchen, hell I can’t even cook”
Ivory wandered in the lounge.
“There’s an SUV coming up the drive” he said “It looks like Brutus driving”
“Well there you go Mare” I said “now you can talk to him about it and tell him how you feel”
“I don’t want to talk to him now, I need sleep. I have to get up to the babies in the morning,” she said getting up she seemed very annoyed as she stalked out and up the stairs.
“Ok” Ivory said looking confused at Mary-anne's exit “also that Sin guy has been hovering near the edge of our perimeter since he left”
“Brutus nearly ran him over” Ivory said “Oh here is the big boy now”
Ivory was not wrong about big, Brutus was near 7 foot tall and built solid. I hadn’t seen him in tiger form but I am positive he makes a great tiger too.
He knocked on the door and Ebony answered it letting him in.
He came into the lounge.
“I am sorry to disturb you all, is Mary-Anne around, I need to talk to her” He said very politely
“She has gone to her room sorry Brutus, you are welcome to stay, all I ask is that you do not fight around the babies” I said
“She is really mad at me ah?” he said sitting down, he knew he fucked up.
“Yup” Julian said “word of advice, never tell a woman she is meant to stay home have babies and do housework, let that be her choice”
“Yet she is looking after your babies” Brutus said sulking
“It was her choice to help us, it is not really part of her job which is why we pay her extra for doing so, and she does not do housework” I said defending us
“There’s a big difference between raising kids and helping someone raise their kids, beside she is still young, and if you really wanted to you could look at this as some hands on experience” Julian said nearly laughing I whacked him again (not abusively, just a slap on the arm)
“Really the women around me are equal opportunity woman, it’s how I have trained the ones who were not and how I treat all my family, and how I expect my family to treat each other” I said
“Right so you’d support it, if the men all went home to play daddy and left the woman guarding shit?” he looked at me as if my head was going to start spinning
“Yes” I said “If the women were trained for it”
“So where are all your female guards? He asked
“We do have a couple, but we can only hire those who want the work, I don’t care if they are male or female” I said “Hex,and Kerry are great at their job guarding, and hunting criminals”
“Talon trained them, and Savannah” Julian said smiling
“Oh yeah and there’s Savannah” I said “so yes I can honestly say I don't care what sex they are I will hire them if they are good at the job”
“So I will work on not being sexist” Brutus said “but I really want to see her”
“Then go knock on her door” Julian said “And grovel a lot”
Brutus smiled at him and got up.
He didn’t come back so I guessed they were making up, nights like this I am so glad we have sound proofing so good you can only hear what’s happening if the door is open. Theirs stayed closed.
“Maybe we should get the kids into a more night time routine?” I said to Julian as we were headed to bed
“But they are like humans” Julian said
“Yeah and” I said “You know we are going to miss out on all the good bits, and we only get to spend a few hours with them each night, because they are weird babies who sleep”
“Maybe they sleep so well because they know how much they are loved, not just by us” Julian said snuggling up to me.
“If only they had been born more vampy” I said
“Don’t worry hon we will work it out, we have time” He said smiling at me “I still think we could possibly get away with being normalish, move to the suburbs, plenty of vampires do that now”
The babies only woke up once that night, Julian and I played with them a bit, I was hoping they would sleep in for Mary-Anne.
